My early career as a textile designer intersects with my life-long subject, the land, as both inform each other and express the simultaneity of environmental and personal experience. Their influence often overlooked, decorative patterns offer insight into the individuals and societies that create and use them; similar to signage, or camouflage, we wear and surround ourselves with motifs that hide or affirm our identity and social location.
