Kathleen Caprario

Kathleen Caprario traded her working-class Jersey roots and a career as a textile designer in New York City for the broad skies of the Pacific Northwest where she has established herself as a writer, visual artist, art educator and occasional stand up comic. Her work evolves from the question, “how am I shaped by my environment?" and seeks to reconnect personal and cultural identity with the land, and is inclusive of the intersection between physical place, cultural space, and authentic experience.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I respectfully acknowledge the land that my work was inspired by, enabled by and created on, here in Eugene/Springfield—the traditional Indigenous homeland of the Kalapuya people
