As soon as I arrived at The Lake—the last residence of the American artist, Morris Graves— the forms, textures and patterns of that unique place gave me a new awareness of the dynamism of the land and my location within it. The LAKE DREAMINGS collages break the frame and physically inhabit a space created with reconfigured papers and irregular in form. Black and white linear continuations rhythmically traverse the painted surface and graphically realize the flight of birds, insect trails and my own movements through the land as an abstract mapping system.
